Optimist Club-Involved Service Activities

The Platteville Optimist Club has a strong history of service, supporting local schools and numerous youth-oriented community projects and activities.  Members are ready to give back to our community, both as volunteers and leaders, whether it be through an Optimist sponsored event or on an individual basis.  Optimists serve the community by providing time and funds to Optimist-sponsored activities, as well as volunteering in other local events that require additional personnel (click HERE to see a listing of these activities).   We also contribute monies to other organizations so they may carry out their missions (click HERE to see a listing of who we support annually).  In the 2018-2019 year, we gave approximately $14,000 towards these efforts.

Bike Rodeo

Optimist volunteers work with Scouts to conduct a bike safety event. Participants in the Bike Rodeo take part in a skills course.

Fun prizes like bike helmets and backpacks are awarded.  The weather cooperated and turnout was good on a beautiful summer evening. Many thanks for all of the volunteers.

Safe Riding Everyone!

Party In The Park

Every July, the Platteville Optimist Club provides free hotdogs, milk and ice cream to attendees of Party in the Park, held at City Park.

The Giving Tree

Optimist volunteers help wrap present for over forty local families who receive help from the Family Advocates' Giving Tree.

Families are adopted by "Secret Santas."  They buy the presents and we wrap them!

Happy Holidays
