Jen Kasper is a 31-year radio veteran who has served as Director of Sales for QueenB Radio's staions WGLR-FM, WPVL-FM & AM and KIYX-FM since 2019. She talked about how her career advanced over the years and the leadership positions she's held while working to grow local radio and digital revenues for our local stations. Under her guidance, her team has positioned QueenB Radio to be the Premier Radio and Digital group in Dubuque and Southwest Wisconsin. Jen spoke about how QueenB radio works to promote community programs, much like Optimists do, and what they're doing to recruit young people into careers in radio and broadcasting. This led to discussion of the Youth Apprentice (YA) program QueenB is participating in where Seth Wilson, a Platteville High School senior, is currently doing live radio broadcasts (mainly away basketball games) with Steve Prestegard. Seth spoke about his apprenticeship with the radio station and the Platteville High School Broadcasting Club, which he started when he was a sophomore. The You Tube live streams with student broadcasters for home games have become a popular option for viewers unable to attend games in person.
