Joe Jacquinot, a Platteville Community Arboretum (PCA) member and head of the Steering Committee for the Valley-To-Eastside Expansion Project spoke to our Club about the project. The Valley-To-Eastside Expansion Project aims to acquire former rail corridor land (Parcels 1-4) to preserve the corridor and adjacent areas of green space in perpetuity and for future generations. The land acquisition is the first phase of this multi-phase project.
A DNR Stewardship grant has been secured. Joe and his committee are tasked with raising $200,000 of the Phase 1 estimated total cost of $350,000. They are asking for support from the community so that we can all enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors for years to come. PCA fundraising committee members Joe Jacquinot, Brian Laufenberg, Amanda Zbilski-Kroll and Don Francis are working with Inspiring Community on this project. We are encouraged to reach out to them or any other PCA board members for additional information.
Joe Jacquinot explains the project. Don Francis, Joe, Ron Weier, and Vice-President Terri Ellis
