The McNett family shared the story of how at the age of 12, Mitch got his leg stuck in an auger. His dad, Mike found him about a half hour later. Mitch was med-flighted to Madison where he underwent 17 surgeries on his way to recovery. At one point, when Mitch was very depressed, his high school principal visited and gave him a talk about looking at the situation as a glass half full or a glass half empty. Mitch made the optimistic choice. He learned to walk and even run again, against the odds given to him by his doctor. Mitch is now a mortician and owner of Casey McNett Funeral Home in Cuba City.
