Kevin Koch spoke about his book Midwest Bedrock: The Search for Nature's Soul in America's Heartland that focuses on the outdoor places of the Midwest that defy stereotypes of the region. He spoke about each of the twelve states in the driftless region, detailing specific areas of natural beauty, geological or historic significance in the state.

Kevin is a retired English professor from Loras College in Dubuque. He and his wife enjoy biking, hiking, and kayaking.
