Volunteer of the Year for 2025 - Dianne Jentz

Platteville Optimist Club 2025 Volunteer of the Year, Dianne Jentz with President Bob Hundhausen

Bob had this to say about Dianne Jentz as he presented her with the Platteville Regional Chamber "Salute to Volunteers" Platteville Optimist Club 2025 Volunteer of Year Award.

"Every once in a while, you meet someone that you wish you could be more like them.  I met Dianne about 8 years ago when I was fundraising for the outside exercise park on the PCA trail.  She was the person to speak to at Heartland Credit Union.  Fundraising is always very uncomfortable asking people for money.  Dianne made me feel very comfortable and I quickly realized she was an avid runner and advocate for the trail. 

A couple of years later I recruited Dianne to the PCA board (I am taking credit). Dianne is a person who improves everything she touches.  She became PCA's treasurer and she organized and transformed PCA's books and accounting.  She is very meticulous, always going the extra mile.  She also is an excellent communicator and provides PCA's board with a very clear understanding of our finances for operations and donor funds.  As she continued with PCA, her leadership has grown definitely placing her stamp of ownership and accountability on the organization.  She also puts her money where her mouth is.  She volunteers Wednesday evening on the trail and she helps take care of the church grounds at St Rose.  I don't know how she does all of this and she is the mother of 3 awesome kids and wife to husband, Ron.

I sponsored Dianne in Optimists and she continues to do what she does.  She has helped with the updating and revamping of Optimist web site while leading the Publicity committee.  With help, she set up an online clothing order program for our club thru Land's End, which is an incredible improvement.  She did all of this without knowing anything about setting something like this up before.  She just figured it out.  She has lead thru active volunteering in all of our fundraising activities and joined the Optimist board as well.  She has taken on important roles in our cheese curd fundraiser as well.  If I had to go to battle, I would choose Dianne Jentz to be in my trench.
